Protection from the Elements
As those first cold breaths of winter creep in there's only one place to be at the end of the day...anywhere with a juicy vino and a smokin' hot dinner. That's what we're about this month.
Down here in McLaren Vale we've been getting some good rain (bring it on!) and the cold has already begun to set in. Although the outside has kept me inside, I've still required further protection from the elements. These are the local wines that did the job. Hewitson leads the charge.
Did you see Australian Gourmet Traveller this month? Well-known wine critic Max Allen gave Secret Vines and the wineries we work with a great little plug, he said ours are ‘Vines for the Times. Tim Althaus has put together a really smart website offering small parcels of some of the country's best wines, some of which are particularly hard to get hold of - hence the name, Secret Vines.' May 2009.
