Torzi Matthews
Domenic Torzi is one of the new breed of Australian winemakers. He hand-makes all his wines with a cavalier attitude alongside partner Tracy Matthews from a small patch of vines in the Eden Valley.
Their vineyard was planted in 1996 on the gentle slopes of Mt McKenzie on a hunch that the naturally low yields on the poor soils would produce intense flavours that were worth rolling the dice for in an area prone to terrible frosts.
We like the attitude and we like the wines - definately a road less travelled.
