Bodegas Castro Martin

In the age of the global economy and multi-national companies Bodegas Castro Martin stands proudly as a business still owned and run by the founding family. Sadly, closer examination of many of the larger wine cellars in Rías Baixas will reveal ownership from other parts of Spain, as larger companies slowly swallow them up.

The history of the Bodega can be traced back as far as 1887 where old documents prove the existence of a wine cellar and the sale of Albariño.

A one grape winery, this Bodega specializes in Albarino and has led the way in the grape's recent revival.

The philosophy is simple: to make the best quality wine that they possibly can, and sell it at a price that is related directly to that quality - in more simple terms, value for money. They are constantly re-examining their work, never standing still, and continue to improve and to innovate as much as possible, but most importantly, whilst still respecting the tradition of the region.

We seek out and recommend the best wines from around Australia and overseas. Quality creations from boutique, family-owned and hidden-away wineries. You won't normally find these wines on the retail shelves and if you can, they're always in limited supply.  We call them ‘authentic wines from authentic wine families'.
