2010 Willinga 100 Pinot Gris
The grapes for the Willunga 100 Pinot Gris come solely from the cooler climate, higher altitude region of Adelaide Hills, which produces Pinot Gris with aromatic lift and delicacy. The grapes are hand picked to ensure they are delivered to the winery in the best possible condition.
It's made by Kate Day who is a talented young winemaker and Tim James, an old friend who recently retired from running Wirra Wirra for several years.
This Pinot Gris drinks more like a Grigio for my mind - crisp nashi pear and apple aromas carry through to a fine, delicate and long finish on the palate. Balanced, zesty and fresh this a invigorating wine and a great little drink.
