2009 La Linea Tempranillo
La Linea is a joint operation in the Adelaide Hills by duo Peter Leske and David Le Mire and their families. They focus solely on Riesling and the king of Spanish grapes Tempranillo.
Peter Leske has been making Temp since 2001 when he was head winemaker for Nepenthe (when it was still a family-owned concern.) David is a MW (Master of Wine) and one of Australia's experts on all things vinous.
In our opinion, this is the best wine released yet from the La Linea winery.
The 2009 Temp is juicy, vibrant and packed with cherry, raspberry and mulberry flavour. The tannins provide a firm shell from which the wine slowly unfolds. This is a seriously gorgeous drink and one of the better Tempranillos released in Australia to date.
