2010 JOSEPH d'elena Pinot Grigio
Here it is..... Australia's best Pinot Grigio.
The JOSEPH Pinot Grigio comes from a dry grown, one hectare patch in the outstanding Angel Gully Vineyard which perches on a hill towering over the town of Clarendon.
It's medium bodied and perfectly balanced with all the apple, pear and mineral characters that a cracking P.G. beholds. The finish delivers with surprising length and texture typical of the variety. This is the savoury personality of much of Italy's far-north Pinot Grigio and exactly what the best wines of this variety exhibit.
If I was a kingfish carpaccio, it would please me no end to be drowned in this! If you can't get a good Kingy, have it with snapper, barramundi, red emperor, or whatever else is seasonal, fresh and still dripping from the sea.
