2010 Paxton Pinot Gris
This wine has the simple charm of a freshly baked apple pie. It's grown on one of the coolest sights in McLaren Vale and although the label says Gris, the wine inside feels more like Grigio to me. The muted and restrained flavours take a back seat to the texture and savoury tang as the wine unravels - just the way I like it. This is made according to biodynamic principles and is farmed in a sustainable viticulture regime which Paxton are well known for.
Now if ‘someone' would roast me a chicken and slather it in extra virgin olive oil, I'd give her some peace for the day.
