The Bottin family has been growing grapes in McLaren Vale since 1970 and in Italy for generations before that. For all time, ‘easy does it' has been the approach and concepts like ‘high tech' never made it in the window on the Bottin farm. It's a tin shed, hand labour, a pod of old wine barrels and a bucket load of love. The wines began in the old-time ritual of farm gate producers - a treasured trade item to share and barter with the neighbours. The upshot over the years has been mountains of fresh, farm fare pillared with an army of cured beasts on the front porch......Australian wines from Italian vines, and worth trading a pig for!

2006 Vigna Bottin Sangiovese
Sangiovese is the famous grape of Tuscany - this is a beautiful rendetion from McLaren Vale, South Australia. The 2006 vintage is excellent and almost impossible to get hold of. It is suave and svelte, like a good Italian suit!
